ADVICE FROM OUR EXPERTS
The Glideride is a pure running shoe, build with a rocker designed to propel the foot from midstance through to toe off with minimal energy wasted.
ACTIVE FEET STAFF REVIEW
Asics have entered the "super shoe" category with the Glideride and first impressions are good. The forefoot has an aggressive rocker which feels fantastic while running at pace. Overall the shoe is quite snappy and responsive so those looking for a plush cloudy feeling should look elsewhere. I can definitely see this staying in my rotation for speed and tempo sessions.

The Meta Rocker in these shoes is very pronounced to point that it feels weird to walk in them. Took me a few runs to get used to them, but now I really like them. Pros: Heaps of cushioning, great for running on hard surfaces, meta rocker helps especially when you start to tire a little. Cons: Heavy, do not feel good on trails, feet get quite hot. How I use them: Long runs on hard surfaces. I've previously done most of my running on coastal trails, but since the Pandemic, these have been congested with everyone doing their daily exercise. To get some social distancing, this has forced me out onto the road and bike paths. The GlideRides has great. I've been able to do long runs on the harder surfaces with minimal soreness in the legs.
These are the second pair of these runners I have purchased (i need the 2 for back to back running days). They are great shoes for people that run with a mid foot strike and high cadence. Additionally I have found that they help take the load off my Achilles which has been a issue for me for a while. One word of warning they are the most stable shoe so you need to have a relatively balance foot strike.
