I'm Jasmine Chan and we are Propel Podiatry. We specialise in finding the root cause of your injury and finding a permanent solution quickly so you can return back to the activities you love most.
What is your best tip for staying active in lockdown?
Consistency is key. You don't need much room or equipment at all to stay active. I live in a 2 bedroom unit and rain, hail or shine, I am able to do my interval workouts indoors or our in my driveway. All you need is a clock and a little bit of imagination!
What have you been doing to keep active?
My husband and I have created a new sport... outdoor badminton with no net or court. The aim is to predict where the wind will blow the shuttlecock and entice the other person to run as far as possible to only just reach the shot. The session ends when there are no feathers left on the shuttlecock.
Generally I am down at the squash courts playing or coaching squash and racquetball. I also really enjoy running along our local bike tracks and doing high intensity interval workouts at home.
I tend to see quite a lot of recurring ankle sprains or longstanding ankle pain from subluxed joints in the foot and ankle. I find that patients respond quite well to management and it allows them the freedom to return to their activity with confidence without any invasive procedures.
